Our legacy
The name Galloping Swede carries a legacy of perseverance, dedication and pride. It traces back to Hugo Aronson, one of the first members of our family to travel from Sweden to the United States. After facing countless challenges along the way, he landed in Columbus, MT and decided to make the area home.
It is here that Hugo earned his nickname, 'The Galloping Swede," for his unwavering work ethic in the oil fields. He later became the 14th Governor of Montana while also building various successful businesses and serving in WWI. Hugo's nephew, Sven Johanson, followed in his footsteps as an oil field worker.
Today, the Galloping Swede LLC continues this legacy throughout the Billings area. The current owner is Sven's great-grandson. We're committed to keeping the family tradition alive by serving the community as a trusted contractor as a trusted general contractor. We stand true to the hard work and superior craftsmanship that started it all.
